Highlights from the first day of the Conference: At the opening ceremony in the Western Macedonia Region Council Conference Room greetings were given by the Regional Governor of Western Macedonia Theodoros Karypidis, the Rector of the University of Western Macedonia Antonios Tourlidakis and the Rector of the Western Macedonia University of Applied Sciences Stergios Ganatsios. Keynote speakers: Efthymis Lekkas, National and Kapodistrian University of Athens Professor and EPPO Chairman  and Dr. Gerasimos Papadopoulos, North East Atlantic & Mediterranean Tsunami Warning System, IOC / UNESCO Chairman . The ceremony was closed by Helias Argyris, Head of the Independent Civil Protection Office, Municipality of Rhodes and Safe Greece inspirer. The first Sessions of the Conference have been held in the premises of the hospitable Western Macedonia University of Applied Sciences.
