Public communication of seismic hazard issues and geoethical dilemmas

The Greek section of the International Association for Promoting Geoethics (IAPG) and SafeGreece are organizing an online event on Tuesday 8.11.2022, at 20.00, on the topic "Public communication of seismic hazard issues and geoethical dilemmas”.

Keynote speaker will be Dr. Gerasimos A. Papadopoulos, scientific associate of UNESCO, President of SafeGreece and head of the Greek section of the IAPG.

The President of the Hellenic Geological Society, Dr. Athanasios Ganas, Director of Research at the Geodynamic Institute of the National Observatory of Athens, and the President of the Anti-Seismic Planning and Protection Organization, Dr. Efthymis Lekkas, Professor of the Department of Geology and Geoenvironment, NKUA, will give a foreword.

The event will be coordinated by Dr. Maria Triantaphyllou, Professor of the Department of Geology and Geoenvironment, NKUA, Greek section of the IAPG.

A short video on "Geoethics and geological risks" (by Silvia Peppoloni, IAPG Secretary General) will be shown.
